Colour Throwdown 151

As soon as I saw the inspiration from the Colour Throwdown team, I got this idea. I'm pretty chuffed to say that it worked!

Card front

Card inner
This was the inspriation from the team:

This card is designed to be a really sweet baby shower card, especially when the gender of bubs is unknown! The elephant on the front is mounted on dimensionals. The sentiment on the inner was just created on Word and printed out.

Stamps: Celebrate Everyday (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Basic Black and Rich Razzleberry (SU)
Paper: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry DSP (SU); Whisper White and Basic Grey (SU)
Punch: Small Heart (Fiskars)

Inkspirations 78

I am going to say from the outset that I don't particularly like this card, but nearly as much I don't like the photo of it... UGH!

Poor lighting made for a poor photo. Oh well!

I used Inkspiration Challenge 78 for the colours of this card. It looked much better in my head!

Stamps: Garden Whimsy and Scribble This (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Perfect Plum (SU)
Paper: Rose Red and Perfect Plum SP (SU); Kraft and a 'very vanilla-ish' paper
Embellisment: Rose Red brad (SU)

Happy Birthday, Joshua!

This weekend, we are celebrating my nephew's fifth birthday. He is the eldest of the seven cousins on my husband's side. We are celebrating at an indoor play centre... Not my favourite place to be on a Sunday in winter, but the kiddles will have a blast!

He is really into Bob the Builder at the moment, so I got some colouring book images and created a photo frame and a card for the little man.

Photo frame, designed to fit a landscape 10x15cm photo (on the yellow DSP)
CAS (very...) card for the birthday boy
Paper: Tempting Torquoise, Wild Wasabi and So Saffron DSP, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Embellishments: Silver Brads (SU); foam letters (Thickers)

Happy Birthday, Little Monster

Well, a new era is upon us! The first of the second babies of my mother's group has turned one. He is a spunky little boy and this card suits him down to the ground!

I have used the fabulous colour combination from The Paper Players, and the sketch from Inkspirations to help me make this card.

The middle monster was stamped onto Whisper White card, coloured in with my Poppy Parade Stampin' Write marker and blender pens and then fussy cut. That and the sentiment have been mounted with dimensionals (a bit hard to pick up on in the picture).

Stamps: Make a Monster and Fun & Fast Notes (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso (SU)
Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Whisper White (SU); Poppy Parade DSP (SU); kraft card
Embellishments: Silver brads (SU)

Christmas in July

What a nice way to get through these dreary, wet days! It was nice to start thinking about my Christmas cards... The team at Our Creative Corner wanted us to have a go at creating a Christmas card in July.

I feel I must apologise for the shocking photo quality. I've taken it at night, in a rush while I cook my daughter's dinner... And the baby's in the background crying!!

What doesn't show up very well is that the sentiment has been mounted on dimensionals.

Stamps: Every Little Bit and Wonderful Favourites (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive (SU)
Paper: Rich Razzleberry DSP, Whisper White (SU)
Embellishments: Silver Brads (SU)

Happy Birthday, Fella!

Looking at my birthday calender, there are a few blokes birthdays coming up... So, using the Mojo Monday sketch as inspiration, I have created a blokey birthday card that I hope will be appreciated.

Card for a male friend.

I highlighted the word 'friend' on this particular card and will do the same for the other card. But, for my brother's card, I will highlight 'brother' and 'uncle'.

Stamps: Wonderful Favourites and Fun & Fast Notes (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie (SU)
Paper: Going Grey, Basic Grey, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White (SU); newspaper
Embellishments: Silver Brads (SU); staples

Happy Birthday Nanna May

This Sunday, my family are celebrating my grandmother's 84th birthday. This does pose the age old question of what to get her? A book and some choccies never go astray and since the birth of my daughters I have given her a framed picture of them.

But this year, I wanted to give her a framed picture of all six great grandchildren!
